Sleek illuminator review💜🦄

Hey lovelies🖐🏼👸, today I’m going to be reviewing the sleek barekissed illuminator which retails for £8.99 and can be found at Superdrug, boots or on the sleek website. I’ve picked it up in the colour Monaco which is a very beauty silvery colour with a hint of purple and I’m not going to lie it’s one of my favourite highlighters ever! 😍

Directions ➡️- so this product can be used in 3 different ways:

🙈. it can be used alone on the high points of your face like cheek bones, brow bone and Cupid’s bow which will help to make you look more awake and refreshed on a no makeup day which I personally love doing when I’m in a rush and I don’t have anytime for makeup in the mornings.

🙉.it can be used over foundation in the same way to accentuate your features, personally I feel that the highlighter is more vibrant and noticeable when applied over foundation.

🙊. Or It can be mixed in with your foundation to give you a more glowy look but this is something I don’t recommend especially with the shade Monaco as it is such a light silvery shade it will make you foundation look lighter. If you had Pompeii the bronze shade then it would be perfect for the summer when you’ve got a tan as it will make your foundation darker.

This is the applicator, when the product was first launched it originally had a pump applicator but that caused far too much product to be released when only a small amount is needed so now the applicator has been changed into a stick coming off the lid.

Without flash
With flash, the illuminator contains light reflecting pigments which are visible in the picture. ☄️(apparently this is an emoji of water but to me it looks like frozen glittery ice so I’m going to use it any way 💁🏽)

Pros 😍 –

😍Build-able

😍Doesn’t enhance uneven skin textures

😍Light reflecting pigments (makes you look amazing and glowy in pictures)

😍 good staying power regardless of how it’s used

😍A little goes a long way
Cons ☹️️-

☹️️Has fine bits of glitter which some people don’t like

☹️️Takes a while to blend
My thoughts 💭 😱😍💜

I love a good highlighter. Highlighters are probably one of my favourite make up items but I’ve struggled for a long time to fine a good one because powder highlighters tend to be chunky and enhance the texture of your skin which is amazing if you have smooth skin but if you have any pumps or large large pores it ends up making them look worse and then on the other hand liquid highlighters don’t do enough for me as they tend to not be very pigmented and don’t tend if stay on the skin for long . But this highlighter gives me the glow I want without making my skin look bad and that’s because of one key ingredients which is dimethicone. dimethicone is a silicone based polymer which makes this a silicone based product which helps the illuminator to glide smoothly onto the skin, it’s often used in primers as it helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so it dose help to make your skin look as smooth as possible. I also love this highlighter because it can be used for any look, whether you want a sheer highlight for a natural look or you want to build up the highlighter into a strong glow for a more glamorous look. The light reflecting pigments also look amazing in pictures whether you have gone for a subtle or more dramatic look.

That all for now, keep you eyes out for my next post! 👀 don’t forget to leave an suggestions 💜until next time 😘Keep glowing my fairies! 🦄
